Quick Refresher
Getting Back Into Body Sculpting?
Work through these in order. Each one takes a minute or two — then finish with the knowledge check.
Your progress
0/16Module 1
Client consultation
- Re-learn the flow: goals, history, screening, expectations, consent.
- Write goals in the client's own words.
- Never diagnose — refer when unsure.
Module 2
Safety screening
- Screen every session, not just the first.
- A single significant item means stop.
- Document what you asked and what she answered.
Module 3
Contraindications
- Know the all-modality stop list cold.
- Then the modality-specific list.
- Clearance means written clearance, not a verbal 'it's fine'.
Module 4
Sanitation & infection control
- Disinfect handpieces and cups between clients.
- Single-use where possible; barrier the bed.
- Hand hygiene before gloves, not instead of gloves.
Module 5
Equipment setup
- Inspect cords, cups and pads before every day of service.
- Confirm the machine is on the approved settings your instructor entered.
- Have gel, towels and water ready before the client enters.
Module 6
Cavitation refresher
- Gel generously, keep moving, section the area.
- Approved time per area only.
- Sensation is not a dose.
Module 7
RF refresher
- Comfortable warmth, never sharp.
- Small zones, continuous movement.
- Never over reduced sensation.
Module 8
Vacuum refresher
- Oil first, then suction.
- Bruising is not the goal.
- Off the spine and off varicose veins.
Module 9
Lipo laser refresher
- Clean dry skin, flat pads, snug straps.
- Timed cycle exactly as approved.
- Inspect skin at removal.
Module 10
Body areas
- Each area has its own positioning and avoid list.
- Small areas get shorter times.
- Document left and right separately.
Module 11
Documentation
- If it isn't written, it didn't happen.
- Settings, products, tolerance, observations, aftercare.
- Session number every time.
Module 12
Before/after photography
- Same distance, same light, same angles, grid overlay.
- Clinical consent and marketing consent are separate.
- Label session number and area.
Module 13
Aftercare
- Use your instructor-approved handout.
- Give it in writing, not just verbally.
- Save a copy to the client record.
Module 14
Client expectations
- Series, not miracles.
- Explain what changes and what does not.
- Never promise inches or sizes.
Module 15
Professional boundaries & scope
- Cosmetic services only.
- No diagnosing, no medical advice, no treating conditions.
- Know your state or local requirements.
Module 16
When NOT to treat
- Any significant contraindication.
- Anything you cannot document or explain.
- When your gut says wait — waiting is always allowed.
